App 30mins by car from Cómpeta, Torrox is effectively in two parts. Torrox Pueblo & Torrox Costa. This area is regarded as having the best climate in Europe and because of this there are a lot of extraneous (foreigners) living here. In Torrox Pueblo it is predominantly people from the UK, whereas in Torrox Costa it is German. Between the two there is a large complex called Torrox park, which seems to be getting bigger all the time and will no doubt join the two one day. That said the pueblo still seems to retain its Spanish feel and Torrox Costa has a lovely promenade over 1 1/2 miles long.
